Léoville Barton's wines are consistently well-made, so it is not surprising that their 1999 is muscular, serious, broadlingly rich effort. An opaque ruby/purple color is accompanied by impressive aromas of cedar wood, black fruits, spice box, and loamy soil. Dense, chewy, and built to age, this unflattering yet potentially oustanding fullbodied. Léoville Barton is one of the most concentred and ageworthy wines of the vintage.
